9:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26 until 6:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2025. Limiting water use to drinking, cooking and hygiene needs is necessary because Hawaiian Electric has announced an overnight power outage on June 26 to perform system maintenance and upgrades (www.hawaiianelectric.com/scheduled-overnight-outage-in-north-kohalaon-june-26). DWS’ pumping equipment relies on Hawaiian Electric’s power and will not be able to operate during this power outage.

Furthermore, customers on the upper portion of Ka‘auhuhu Homestead Road to Kohala Mountain Road, ‘Āina U‘i Road, Iki Road, Beers Road, and the Maliu Ridge Subdivision should prepare for no water during this power outage. Those customers are advised to set aside drinking water ahead of time in preparation for the temporary outage.
DWS will set up a temporary water spigot on a fire hydrant located near the Ka‘auhuhu Transfer Station for the public’s use during the power outage.
