Effective immediately and until further notice, an Essential Use Only Notice has been issued for all Department of Water Supply (DWS) customers in the affected areas. Water usage must be restricted to essential needs only, such as drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene purposes, in order to maintain water storage in tanks for all water customers while DWS repairs a well that unexpectedly went offline.
ESSENTIAL WATER USE ONLY
Customers are asked to use water only for essential health and safety needs, including:
- Drinking
- Necessary sanitation
- Cooking and food preparation
- Other essential household or health
- Necessary personal hygiene needs
PLEASE TEMPORARILY AVOID NON-ESSENTIAL WATER USE
Until this notice is lifted, customers are asked to discontinue or postpone nonessential uses of water, including:
- Irrigation and lawn watering
- Pressure washing
- Washing vehicles or boats
- Other unnecessary or high-volume
- Filling swimming pools or spas water use
Reducing water use will help preserve available water supplies and maintain adequate storage for essential needs while DWS works to stabilize the water system. This Essential Water Use Only request will remain in effect until water system conditions improve. DWS will notify customers when normal water use may resume.
DWS appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as crews work to maintain water service and address impacts to its infrastructure.
