Kalapana Water Restriction Notice
AFFECTED AREA: KALAPANA; PUNA, HAWAI‘I ISLAND
Effective immediately and until further notice, a Water Restriction Notice has been issued for all Department of Water Supply (DWS) customers in the affected area. A Water Restriction Notice requires affected customers to reduce water use by at least 25 percent.
These restrictions are needed due to unexpected well and equipment malfunctions. DWS is currently hauling water to the upper Kalapana water tank. Reducing water use is necessary to maintain adequate water levels in the water storage tanks for all customers. DWS asks customers to use water wisely and not waste it.
