
Pāhala Precautionary Boil Water Notice CANCELLED
Effective Thursday, August 20, 2026, the Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Pāhala customers that the Department of Water Supply (DWS) issued on August 17 is CANCELLED.
In accordance with safe drinking water standards, bacteriological testing of the Pāhala Water System (Public Water System #109) was conducted. Laboratory water analysis confirms that coliform bacteria and other potential microbiological contaminants are not present in the water system and that the water meets all regulatory drinking water quality requirements.
What You Can Do
• Normal use of your tap water may resume immediately.
• It is no longer necessary to boil tap water or use bottled water for drinking, cooking, making ice, or brushing teeth.
• Recommended post-notice steps: Flush building, residential taps, hose bibbs, water fountains, and ice makers for a few minutes before first use.
